2023 World Population Status Announced
The world population reached 8 billion people in November 2022. Data reveals that concerns about the population are very common, and many governments have developed policies for affecting fertility rates against increasing or decreasing population. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) published 2023 Report of the World Population Status (SWOP) in Turkey’s annual signature publication. Accordingly; policies for affecting fertility rates are severely damaging women’s rights as they are ineffective. ‘8 Billion Life, Infinite Possessions: According to the report on Rights and Elections; 44 percent of women and daughters are still entitled to take their own decisions with their bodies, in terms of the use of sexuality, pregnancy preventive method and health care. And around 257 million women worldwide need safe and reliable family planning. In the UNFPA report, 'The bodies of women should not be the essence of the population targets.

The date shows that fertility policies designed to increase or reduce birth rates are often ineffective and can harm women’s rights. Many countries have launched programs to create larger families by offering financial incentives and rewards to women and their spouses, but birth rates continue to stay under two children per woman. The efforts to slow down population growth through forced jealing and compelling birth control also violates human rights seriously. The report calls for governments to create policies based on gender equality such as birth permit programs, child tax discounts, policies that promote gender equality in workplaces, sexual health and reproductive health and rights with universal access. It emphasizes that these policies are a proven success formula that will make the development of irresistible societies if they change economicly growing and how the populations change. [

- According to the data received from 68 countries, 24 percent of women and girls are not ‘live’ to sexual intercourse and 11 percent of pregnancy preventive methods are not able to get their own decisions.
