Merged Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has determined that food has caused more than three of the greenhouse scope of production, processing, packaging and transportation.

FAO's compromise, 20% of the total fuel consumption of the US goes to the food chain supply. However, studies show that the current problem lies in the production phase of food from the transportation distance. A lot of cities in Europe start to answer the changes they made in food supply sites. For example, Vienna blocked the release of 103.000 tons of CO2 between 2004-2007 by providing local and organic products to public institutions under the “BioAl Vienna” of climate protection program, and saved 44,4 million euros. The “Unique Thursday” program, starting in Ghent city of Belgium, invites the city people to vegetarian nutrition every week.

We can reduce the pressure on the climate by consuming less packed season vegetables and fruits, allowing quick nozzles. What we eat, determines the relationship we build with nature.
