Single planet, single future...

Single planet, single future...

]Today 5 June. The United Nations Environment Program celebrates World Environment Day in June 5th. Just as in the World Clock, this day, pay attention to environmental problems such as climate change, thirst, scarcity, pollution. UNEP’s theme set for this year’s Environmental Day is sustainable lifestyles.

[
[
Ad from this year's theme is more inclusive. We can set up a sustainable future by changing the preferences we made in everyday life. Of course, here we are talking about not only to use the tap and to change all our consumption habits.
]

]
What is the reason for careful consumption and sustainability? If we continue to consume this way up to 2050, we will need three planets to host the population that will rise to 9,6 billion. Yet the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon said, “No B Plan to fight against change, because there is no B planet (Planet B).” Yes, we have a single planet and the situation here is unfortunately not so bright: Our global consumption level came to a point, the world has to work for 1.5 years to recreate what we consume in 1 year.

The subject of the header is not limited only by sources. The Living Planet Index broadcasting by WWF shows that the population of vertebrated species decreases half a year in 40 years. According to the report, terrestrial species 39%, sea species 39%, sweet water species decreased by 76%. There is not only environmental pollution in the background of this reduction, but also excessive consumption. The need for new spaces for living (polishing) or producing (design) brings the end of other types.

Now we are waiting for us an important step: to meet the needs caused by the increase of population, while maintaining the development of poor cutting, keeping environmental impacts at a minimum, ensuring the sustainability of nature. The way to do this is to adopt more sustainable production models and consumption habits. [

One of the most remarkable issues when it comes to production habits is food waste. 1/3 of the food produced worldwide (1 trillion dollar food) is being used. About half of the total food in industrialized regions. Because manufacturers, sellers and consumers think that foods available are not “good enough”. This food that goes to garbage can grow and change life of about 842 million people suffering from insufficiently fed.

Of course the only thing consumed or wasted is not food. We consume resources with a large appetite to meet our needs. Yet we are in case of thinking about the future and changing our production models, consumption forms. According to the UN numbers, we want to maintain the current economic growth on the one hand by continuing to live in the same way, until the end of 2050, we need to extract or fossil fuel up to three times of today. The way to do so is to separate the relationship between the new business models and economic growth rate and resource consumption.. Energy and resource efficiency projects need to combine ecological footprint with consumption habits.

If we step by step through all these titles...

- According to WWF, the carbon, which is revealed by the combustion of fossil fuels, is the largest component in the Ecological Footprint of mankind since more than half a century. 36% carbon rate in total footprint in 1961 came to 53% in 2010. Fortunately, the share of renewable energy in the world energy production is increasing every day. According to the figures shared by the International Energy Agency, if it focuses on energy efficiency around the world, it will be able to create a savings of about 560 billion dollars while the global energy demand for up to 2030.

- It is possible to produce more using less resources with production efficiency projects. Organizing the production facilities accordingly promises a lot of things in terms of both over consumption and preventing global warming. BM numbers show that investments to green economy have a better return in 10 years according to traditional sector investments and increase GDP at higher rate. [

]
- After making a more efficient production using less resources, the queue comes to consume more carefully. According to the UNDP data, if we continue to produce and consume in this way, the Human Development Index will decrease by 8% with the best probability, at least 15%. The most likely regions of this drop will be the poorest cuts. Buying decisions that we perform in the day may not seem very important to our eyes, but it creates a lot of difference. To pay attention to the traces of water and carbon footprints of products and to choose the products we will use in accordance with the door of a sustainable future. It is necessary to review all the products we use, not only to avoid wasting.

]
- Of course it is not enough to consume only carefully to establish a sustainable life. We need to contribute to the fact that product life curves are greener by deleting and recycling the packaging of the products we use. [

] - Energy and water enters into work as we take into account all the resources we use while avoiding waste in our home and offices.. Important differences are created using both careful and efficient white goods, ampoules, fixtures and reservoirs.

[
- If you are out of the house, it looks like a good solution to focus on our carbon footprint and use bulk transportation solutions more. If your distance is appropriate, you can also consider cycling and walking.

- Many things in large cities look like a consumption trap but do not worry. Every day we consume less with the developing sharing economy solutions and experience quality and modest. To exchange an item that you need to use, to take lessons on a matter you wonder in return by offering services in a matter you are skilled, to share your vehicle with someone else or to go... All possible with the sharing economy.

Today we need to do something for the world from today for 5 June World Environment Day and a sustainable future. [
