WWF Turkey: All of Turkey's existing electricity needs can be met with solar panels to be used in the area of Ataturk Dam.
It does not require wide space as it is thought to produce electricity from solar energy. The Sun Atlas published in WWF reveals how much space will be required if all of the electricity needs are from the solar energy of the world. According to Atlasa, it is possible to meet all of the current electricity needs of Turkey with solar panels to spread to the area of Ataturk Dam. [[
In the Sun Atlas, Turkey has qualified to love different geographies and calculated the area required to meet the solar panels of the request. In examples, suntimes, examples and increase in electrical consumption were evaluated. The results reveal that less than one of the total area of the is enough to meet all of the electrical need in 2050.
]]The electrical demand between 2002 and 2011 increased by 56%. It is expected to rise the trend of increase. The demand for question is to be met from renewables, natural gas and coal. Turkey’s 380.000 billions of weightwatth/year solar energy potential is more than 1.5 times of the current annual consumption of electricity.
Atlas reveals that is possible to meet all the current electrical needs of Turkey in a total area of 790 km2. Given that the consumption of electricity per population and per person will increase in 2050, it is necessary to meet all the electricity needs of Turkey. This measure corresponds to 25 percent of the Turkish swimmer.
