25 million euros for solar energy

European Development Commissioner Andris Piebalgs announced that the European Union will provide 25 million euros for the construction of the largest solar power plant in Western Africa.

Supports European Investment Bank (EIB) and French Development Agency (AFD) for the construction of photovoltaic plant. When the plant is completed, Burkina Faso will be made of 96 thousand solar panels at Ouagadougou skirts.
Santral will perform 6% of the energy production of the country alone. The European Union has set up a 65 million euro service center prescribed by the United Nations for developing countries to provide energy access to 500 million people up to 2030.
