Air load heavy
Greenpeace Mediterranean’s report on the ‘Air Pollution Load in Turkey’ was held in front of the heavy load of air pollution. The report reveals that the long-term exposure to PM 2.5 centrifugal only contributes to 34 thousand early death in 2021. Particulate substance (PM) means pollution in the form of small liquid or particle that is laid in the atmosphere. PM pollution is required according to the particles. PM2.5 is used to identify smaller particles than 2.5 micrometer. In 38 provinces covered more than 60 percent of the Turkish population, including Istanbul and Ankara, PM 2.5 pollution average 20.7 micrograms, according to the data received by airborne throughout 2021. This amount of means more pollution than 4 times of annual limit value determined by the World Health Organization (DSÖ). In the cities included in the report, it is estimated that 64 of early deaths are caused by binding to PM 2.5 pollution in the air.
Every year 26 could save a life
[[T]]PM appears more difficult when compared to early deaths, landing numbers and death risk caused by traffic failure, when compared to the air pollution caused by 2.5 pollution. Early death risk due to PM 2.5 air pollution in Turkey, 24 times more than death risk due to conflict. When compared with mortality rates due to traffic failure, the risk of death is 7 times more than PM 2.5 pollution. If the amount of PM 2.5 in these cities had met DSÖ limits, the number of early deaths attributed to PM 2.5 pollution could be reduced by 75 percent so that the estimated 26 thousand lives could be saved. [More early death in Istanbul
The first place in terms of the increased early death risk of 49 percent of the warts that can be expected in 2021. Istanbul, 8 thousand 895 is the most early death city due to PM 2.5 pollution with life loss. The results of the report that should be urgently moved to the issue of PM 2.5 pollution in Turkey to protect the public health. Annual and 24 hours average limit values for PM 2.5 pollution in Turkey should be identified first. National limit values must be compatible with the levels accepted by the European Union at. In the long run, the purpose is to remove the application with the DSÖ limits. Greenpeace Mediterranean demands the compromise of the ‘Protection Zone’ of the regions where these standards are reportedd after determining the national limit values that will take into account early deaths while maintaining public healt h. It is predicted to take seriously measures to improve air quality, including the operation stop or close of places in places declared ‘Protection Area’.
“The limit value for most dangerous must be determined”
] Greenpeace Mediterranean Climate and Energy Project Officer Gökhan Ersoy stressed that limits values will contribute to early deaths. “We all know the perpetrators that pollut our air, but it is possible to fight with the usual methods. Today, the most dangerous pollutant of the planet is determined by a limit value for PM 2.5, it can realize the protection zone is located in our management for places where pollution is chronic, and we can offer the opportunity of blue sky, which will eat clean to our people in the face of dirty industries and extend the average life. ”
