According to a research conducted by the National Geographic Society, the most harm to the environment is Americans and Canadians. In the research of the 'green index' that the organization did every year, Brazil and Indians appeared in the 'green' nation for the second time. 17 thousand people in 17 countries that represent more than half of the world population and use at least 75 percent of energy, were evaluated in research, shelter, transportation, food and consumption behaviours.

[ [In comparison, energy use for warming and cooling, considering the need of electricity and water, the ratio of motor vehicles in transportation, the average car use, daily public transport use and duration of the vehicle was evaluated. In the food category, consumers examined consumption of bottled water, meat and sea products with local production foods.
