Call for young people to protect biodiversity
EY Better Working World Data Challenge 2022 calls college students and careers to produce solutions for one of the most urgent problems in the world, this year focuses on how artificial intelligence and data can help identify and protect biological diversity
International audit and consulting company EY (Ernst & Young) has launched 2022 Better Working World Data Challenge competition. The contest, which is open to participation worldwide and held third year, awaits the participation of data scientists and university students at the beginning of their careers. The competition is an indicator of the decision of bringing solutions with innovation and technology to some serious environmental and climate change problems that today faces the world.

EY Better Working World Data Challenge 2022 participants will use American National Aviation and Space Office (NASA) and other sources collected field data, satellite images and complement geographical data to improve algorithms that reduce the cost and time required to detect biodiversity. Microsoft enables all participants to access their data clusters and competitions in the Planet Computer computing system that combines environmental science and computer science, while providing access to the courses that help them prepare for the competition and also provide access credits to Microsoft Azure for students.
At the end of the competition, the most successful participants will receive cash prizes from a selective panel consisting of representatives of NASA and Microsoft and science community. Also winning models will be available for free for non-commercial purposes in line with contest targets.
