Plastic industry highlights the concept of “chemical strength” in recent years. According to the rules, this technology can turn plastic waste into new plastics. However, data shows that these promises are a serious difference between the truth.

What happens in reality?][
The study conducted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, connected to the US Energy Department in 2023, revealed that pyrolysis plants can convert only 0.1 to 6 percent to new plastic raw materials. [[
In the case of California Başsavcı in 2024, push was discovered to be 8 percent of this rate in the company Teksas Mansion. The sacred part is converted into fuel and draft.
]] ExxonMobil announced that millions of pounds of plastic waste. But how much this output is used in the replastic production is not clear.
]]
What is recycling?]]
]] Chemical granule cover that heat plastic waste at high temperature without oxygen. The most common method pyrolysis. [[
In this process, it is desirable to be translated into raw materials. The treasure industrys this method as “conventional turning” and argues that mixed or dirty plastics can also be judged.

What is it promising?]]
] Companies have advanced that technology can turn plastic waste into new plastic products. This means a closed loop in theory.
This interview is offered in response to increased plastic production criticisms. If force increases, it is necessary that production can also be accepted.
]]
Why are they forced?]]
Eight chemical waste plants operate at 2025 in the USA. Four facilities in 2024 were closed due to technical and financial problems.
Process require high temperature and energy intensive. At the same time costs higher than mechanical turning.
Between 2021-2024, three pyrolysis plants are produced from 2 million pounds of dangerous waste. These wastes have to be disposed separately.

[[ What does the dangerous table count?]]
437 million tons of plastic in 2022. Only 9 percent of this was sent.
About 40 percent of plastic waste is lit, 34 percent is damaged. Recycling shows a limited increase for years. [
Plastic Waste Rate in the USA is 5 to 6 percent. [

What is the case in Turkey?]]
Plastic masterbatch rate in Turkey was 13 percent in 2020. It is possible to increase this rate under Zero Waste.
There is no active chemical failure in the country. Plastic waste is mainly tested by mechanical methods.
Turkey also imports plastic waste. When one part of these waste is paid, one part is environmental risk.

What does this table mean?]]
Current data shows that the chemical fail does not provide a scalable solution to the plastic crisis today. Low efficiency, high cost and energy need limited of this technology. [[
At the same time, plastic production on the global scale is spinning, the nozzle rates are limited. This situation reveals that the problem will not only be solved by waste management. [
Plastic production, design and consumption does not appear without being addressed.
