Business World and Sustainable Development Association (SKD Turkey) prepared the Energy Efficiency guide in the collaboration of Marmara University. The guide aims to increase the contribution of the business world in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and particularly from land vehicles and preventing life losses in traffic.

- It consists of 99%,9% of carbon emission with highest share in greenhouse gases in energy sector. [
- The share of the transportation sector in this emission is 20%. 90% of this figure is caused by road vehicles.
- The number of vehicles registered in Turkey has reached 19 million by increasing 17% by December 2014.
- The number of vehicles in Turkey between 1980-2013 increased by 10 times.
- Due to this increase in land vehicles, carbon emissions from 2000-2013 increased by 56%.
- 3685 people lost their lives in traffic accidents in 2013 in Turkey. Turkey ranked “the worst” in the ranking of death traffic accidents in EU countries.
