Field Studies Completed in Turkey’s First Underwater Virtual Museum

[[T]] The project intention to make the underwater cultural heritage first to contribute to the underwater cultural heritage in Turkey, to perform information sharing on underwater archeology and sea history, to ensure inventory and refugees to underwater in the public. In line with this purpose, the final goal of the project is to create a underwater ‘Virtual Museum’ in virtual space by performing a first in Turkey. [What to Do in Work? [
From the wind of the project diving, nine different teams gathering in the main team for nine weeks. When a team on the research boat allowed ‘sea conditions’, dense, tired, but it was so pleasant. Every morning the team wakes at 06.00, and at 06.45, the boat was opened in the sea and the first dive point was changed according to the distance drop, and every morning starts with diving start at 07.30. In the screening of holes made on the day, they were applied with the surface float, coordinates were taken, then for updatesing with the founding dives, drawing, bed and measurement were made. In addition to the main team in the weekly program, each period was included in the 10-12 open water branch project. Every new dive team started a week by making trials in the Arkeopark area of theoretical and practical training of underwater research workshop.
The working team made the first dive in Kas- Arkeopark area. Location from unforgettable areas to dive in week, Osman’s Western; Threekayas, Pigeon Island, Besmi Island in Kas Islands, Kovan-Kovanlı Islands, Heybeli Ada, Shepherd Burnu, Anchor Banko, Çuburfrog Burn and Shepherd Burnu area, threekaya-Topuk, Çılpacık Island, Sheltertaş Island southwest, Bucak Sea entrance-east coast south, Bucak Sea, Himenliluk Island, Kalkan, and Karak in Kalkan-Kuz region. The Ministry of Tourism Ali İlker Tepeköy, Mustafa Ergün and Umut Görgülü were accompanied by diving, T.C.Kültür and Tourism.
In Diving up to the current stage of the project, amphora and amphora turquoise was encountered in stone and metal anchors, daily use containers, sheet vessels, aircraft bail, even and mill stones.
During the project period, work started to perform a shared program language and a database with access over the internet. After field studies, those who want to contribute to Turkish Underwater Cultural Heritage will be able to enter their own art database.
