'Sea Strategy Framework Directive' Approved
The ‘Sea Strategy Framework Directive’ approved by the European Parliament brings measures to prevent pollution in the oceans until 2020 and the application is mandatory. This directive will be created by "European Sea Zones" and "Alt Zones" that regulates the prevention of pollution in lakes, rivers and surface waters. Member countries will be obliged to create marine strategies for waters connected to these regions. The protection of the sea zones in good condition to 2015 will be determined, measures to be taken to improve other regions. These measures will be provided to be effective in late 2016.
