Speed train instead of aircraft against carbon swing

KLM Netherlands Royal Airlines decided to present a seat capacity at Thalys high-speed train instead of one of the daily flights between Brussels and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport as of 29 March 2020. The project aiming to create a sustainable future for airline transportation by offering iron routes services instead of short-distance flights is also aimed at reducing carbon emissions.

KLM encourages the speed, reliability and comfort of the trains to the passengers of the plane journey with this goal. As the first step of the project, the number of daily flights in the Brussels-Schiphol route along with the Air&Demiryolu product developed in the Thalys trains will be reduced in five to four phases. In advanced periods, KLM aims to gradually reduce this number. [
