The number of clean air zones across Europe has increased by 40 percent since 2019 and has been taken from increasingly higher emission vehicles. According to research based on European Union (EU) data, low emission zone (Low Emission Zone- LEZ) application is currently available in 320 cities. This figure is expected to rise to 507 by increasing more than 2025. The LEZ application defines regions where vehicles are completely or partially prohibited by high carbon emission fossil fuel, although they are applied with different details in each country.

Europe’s cleanest air in Italy
[[T]Italy is the first place in the clean air table of Europe with 172 clean air zones. It follows Germany 78, United Kingdom 17, Holland 14 and France 8. While there are a few LEZs in Central and Eastern Europe, Poland and Bulgaria are expected to open new regions in the coming months. All of the most popular ten tourist cities in Europe, including London, Paris, Brussels and Berlin are preparing to restrict petrol and diesel fuel vehicles with strict rules in LEZs available in three years. In the new research, 2035 in the EU defends the time to accelerate the action by passing through the planned gradual removal of new fossil fuel vehicles up to 2030 in the UK. [
