The wind energy capacity of Turkey was based on the border of 3 gigavat (GW) with 28 percent increase last year. Turkey was 10th largest in Europe by leaving the Netherlands in the production of electricity from the wind.

According to the data of the European Wind Energy Association, Turkey’s installed wind energy capacity was increased by 646 MW with investments in the last year while 2312 megawatt (MW) at the end of 2012. Turkey has reached 2956 MW capacity at the end of 2013. [

The European leader in wind energy Germany, took the board capacity to 31 GW with 3,2 GW increment last year, while the second with 23 GW in Spain, took the third row with the UK 10,5 GW.

Italy with 8,6 GW, 8,3 GW, France, Denmark with 4,8 GW, Portugal with 4,7 GW, 4,5 GW and Poland with 3,4 GW.

The total board capacity in Europe reached 121.5 GW in total with an additional capacity of 12 GW, which is provided with an investment of about 16 billion euros. The share of the wind in the European Union, which includes 117,3 GW of this capacity is 8 percent.
