The world tile giant Interface starts to implement carpet production project from waste fishing networks launched in the Philippines two years ago.

Interface expands the Net-Works program conducted with cooperation of the London Zoology Community (ZSL). Net-Works is an innovative initiative designed to fight increasingly growing trouble in the world’s poor coastal communities. After the success in the rural coastal regions of the Philippines (including the Bantayan Islands and Danajon Coast) the initiative was launched in January 2015 in the Ossa Lake region of Kamerun. [

T24According to the news contained in , Net-Works centers since 2012, gathered 38 thousand 600 kilograms of fish network, and 4 thousand 500 people living in the communities in the Philippines helped 84 thousand additional meals. In the next three years Net-Works is expected to support and strengthen the 500 hectares Sea Protection Area (DKA) connected to the communities in its field, thus helping the biological diversity of water ecosystems to be recovered.

By the Italian spinning manufacturer Aquafil, in the ECONYL Recovery System belonging to them, then recycled to nylon rope used in carpet production by Interface.

]They return their networks for both additional income and access financial services through their own community banks. In this way, micro-credits are available for educational and business initiatives and they can secure their accumulation.

One of the important aspects of Net-Works is that it allows women to join and access the additional source of income from network collection. Thus, women become an integral decision-making parts of the developing community banking system as a result of Net-Works project.
